 June 6:  Toasting the

70th Anniversary of D-Day

So I am in between jobs, which means I have a unique opportunity to get involved in my community.  I can't think of a better occasion than June 6, to raise a glass toasting our ancestors.  The WWII generation sacrificed all in so many ways.  D-Day is still, the largest amphibious invasion in history, and was an occasion where we as a human race achieved an important victory.  This was a fight to establish a consensus, to establish the moral high ground in how we as diverse peoples and cultures may tolerate each others existence.  D-Day was a clear statement where we  refused to yield and decided that this fight to live free is important enough to sacrifice all.

Of course, so much happened all over the world in order to make D-Day even possible, and countless thousands of soldiers died just to earn the date.  So now, approaching the 70th anniversary, let us  raise a glass, toasting the soldiers that fought and their courage to change the world.
